Drake Certified Lover Boy x Nike Airmax 95 Concept Mockup

With the highly anticipated album release of “Certified Lover Boy” that is due to drop at the end of January, I began working on this very unique and eye catching concept mockup of the CLB Air Max 95’s. I took the golden orange and black color scheme from his “Nocta” Nike drop back in December 2020 and kept most of the style identifiable from his clothing release. The CLB logo shown on his apparel is placed on the outside side part of the shoe, which is large and covered in 3M making it reflective.

I placed his brand / label ‘October’s Very Own’ logo on the side part of the shoe, inside sole and bottom of the air bubble as I know this is very consistent throughout all of his previous Nike Jordan collaborations. I also made sure it’s not very in your face as the main USP of the shoe is the Certified Lover Boy and Nocta theme. When it came to deciding which Nike model to apply my concept to I looked back at Drake’s recent urban and active clothing style. It was also rumoured that his official shoe release would be a runner type model similar to the Air Tailwind and Air Max.

I decided to use the Air Max 95, a very iconic shoe model in the urban environment and history of Nike as it’s one of the most popular silhouettes, very fitting to the Nocta theme of techwear, puffer jackets and caps. With the shoe packaging I took inspiration from some of the shoes I own in my collection and how they’re packaged. I noticed with Nike collaborations they mostly have a unique box different to the standard orange. I used black, grey and orange with logos contrasting.
